Tracks:

01. {interview}

(Pre?) FM > ? > CD (Mashed Potatoes)

NOTES: This is obviously incomplete as they did play this day. Awkwardly they played with a drum machine this day even though they had already hired Jimmy as a drummer. As far as a lead to the complete recording I have some information. The radio show that this was played on was "Airplay" on WNUR-FM, a college radio station. I contacted them a couple days ago (April '05) and asked if they had a recording of this and if they could rebroadcast. The person on the other end told me that: "it is MIA", "gone", "stolen", "I was on airplay for awhile and looked for it", "no luck", and "it is the stuff of legend". Judging by the fact it is on Mashed Potatoes, a compilation by Billy, he is probably the one that requested to have it and he has it in his possession.

A very early FM broadcast from WZRD studios. A must have for any Pumpkins fan. A totally different vibe than what they turned into a few years later with Siamese Dream and MCIS. Also has two cover tunes from the Velvet Underground and Neil Young.
Enjoy.

I thought I'd put some SP up, with them now being open-taping and on the archive. This is the fourth or fifth known tape of the band, and they REALLY cook on this one. More info about this show can be found at http://splra.org/wiki/index.php?title=Tsp1989-03-16
First documented performances of Venus in Furs, Snap, Rhinoceros, East, Cinnamon Girl, and Sun.

Notes: This is an upgrade to the widely circulating SBD>ANA-2 source which has gaps or cuts between some of the tracks. Though the exact gen of this source is unknown the sound quality is similar to the ANA-2 if not better and it is slightly longer, including the intro music to the show and a little more crowd in between songs that has been cut on the ANA-2. The beginning of Slunk is still slightly cut as in the ANA-2. If you have a better sounding known gen or better yet the ANA-M, torrent it!
Thanks to Dan for another fine upgrade!
